Are you an experiencedFacilities/Mechanical Engineer in the cleared space? If so, we are seeking aWindows SustainmentEngineer to join our team in Aberdeen, MD. These are critical times in the world of cyber security and Parsons need your help to make us a little bit more secure. This is your chance to help us with this vital mission.

The Army Research Laboratory Supercomputing Research Center engineering team designs and operates world class electrical and mechanical systems. Parsons employees collaborate with the Army Research Laboratory and their academic and industry partners to develop next generation Supercomputing Research Center capabilities.

The qualified candidate will be participate in the engineering design process for all forms of systems that support the data center environment including cabling, power, space planning, cooling management and all other dimensions in a very large, complex environment to include developing creative approaches to reducing operational costs by improving overall data center efficiency.

The position includes working with the site facilities team for troubleshooting complex problems that may be across multiple systems and subsystems that require knowledge of the highly sophisticated data center environment to include understanding the IT infrastructure. The position will require understanding and frequent interaction with a variety of other technical support personnel and will also need to interact with customers during major issues or implementation planning

You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Developing complete understanding of infrastructure design and sequence of operation.

  • Becoming familiar with managing operational risks.

  • Developing operational procedures of varying complexity and execute them as part of a team.

  • Adopting continuous improvements to minimize the environmental impact of the operation by helping the team improve site power usage effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience

  • BS or MS degree in a mechanical engineering.

  • Understanding of power, cooling and other environmental systems in a data center.

  • Technical ability to perform availability assessments of electrical distribution topologies from utility to chip and evaluate demands load side power characteristics

  • Familiarity with information technology equipment level system architecture.

  • Strong math skills

  • Written and verbal communication skills
