The ISIT system engineer is responsible for helping achieve the operational and strategic objectives of the Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) information technology needs. The ISIT systems engineer applies the system development lifecycle for software centric systems in order to provide discrete training solutions for MCTSP exercises and training events. The ISIT systems engineer identifies and defines desired system capabilities; designs and develops training systems architectures; integrates existing systems; communicates the desired exercise capabilities to other MCTSP team members; and generates documentation to achieve implementation of the desired capabilities. The ISIT system engineer possesses expertise in all simulation training domains (Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming) to include which simulation training systems inhabit those domains and how those systems integrate. The ISIT systems engineer is responsible for understanding the underlying communication protocols that simulation-training systems use to communicate. These protocols include high-level architecture (HLA) simulations, and the distributed interactive simulation (DIS) protocols. This enables the ISIT systems engineer to federate and troubleshoot disparate simulation training systems. The ISIT systems engineers duties include: recommending and documenting plans, policy, standards, procedures and checklists; managing infrastructure system assets (servers, storage, appliances, etc.); assessing, analyzing requirements and developing functional and design specifications; providing system and technical support; assisting the organization to maximize technology; recommending and implementing system and technology solutions and improvements; troubleshooting systems and technology and automating organizational tasks. In order to perform these tasks the ISIT systems engineer must manage computer operating systems and software. This includes Linux systems administration tasks such as provisioning servers, hardware and software troubleshooting, integrating Mission Command


2-year degree in Computer Science (or related curriculum) and 2-4 years of progressive experience in one or more areas of infrastructure technology (network, servers, storage, desktop, IPTelephony). Experience maintaining one or more infrastructure elements for a global enterprise. An additional 3 years of relevant experience is required for individuals without a 2-year degree.

Musthave current secret eligibility. Per contract requirements-must bea US Citizen

Certifications: Cisco Associate Certifications (CCNA, CCNA Voice, CCNA Security, etc) preferred. Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP-Enterprise Administrator) preferred.

Capable of establishing, troubleshooting and maintaining a command post tactical network, LAN/WAN. Capable of integrating C2 enablers. Proficient in the use, operation, and integration of IS in a complex digital environment. Capable of providing integration instructions on various IS in support of CP operations. Knowledgeable of Knowledge Management Process. Knowledgeable in the setup, establishment, and operation of SICPS equipment. Capable of performing basic IS/IA troubleshooting and configuration. Knowledgeable on the use and operations of mission command networks and systems, voice systems, and data systems. Capable of presenting Command Post Integration Training CPX and limited refresher/sustainment training of appropriate portions of Staff Integration CPVX. Knowledgeable of the Army Operations Process. Knowledgeable of War fighting Functions (WFF), CP War fighting Function Cells and Staff Operations. Knowledge of industry best practices and methodologies, especially those that are necessary to tie dissimilar components together into an aggregate system. Understanding of global IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have previous hands-on engineering and support experience with at least two infrastructure disciplines (network, servers, storage, desktop, telephony, etc.). A knowledge of the strategic impacts of enterprise initiatives, the supporting IT systems and architecture with a global viewpoint. Written and oral communication skills appropriate for the position, including the ability to speak very well in professional situations and present technical data in a logical manner that is easy to understand (may include communication via telephone, in person, or presenting to small groups). Ability to write moderately complex documents (may include emails, memos, procedures, presentations). Communicates with a wide variety of individuals (employees and managers) throughout the organization and outside of the organization (i.e. clients, vendors).
