Parsons IS Program Management Office is seeking an IT Project Coordinator to join our team. Candidates must have exceptional customer service skills, positive attitude and demonstrated ability to learn and adapt in a comprehensive environment.
The project coordinator will be a part of a team that centrally manages and facilitates project scheduling and data tracking to enhance portfolio data quality and process consistency. He/she supports program/project manager workload by owning project and document control responsibilities for Project Managers. This position requires attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
This is an entry-level position for individuals who are moving into the area of project management and as he/she obtains additional experience may progress to managing small projects.This person is in a developmental mode, receiving training under close supervision in project management skills and practices, as well as gaining knowledge of Parsons Company procedures.
Assists PMO management with project administration, reporting and tracking.
Work with project managers to build out plans using project management tool
Maintains project records and documents.
Tracks project progress against budgets and schedules.
Drafts status reports and other documents for program or project managers.
Analyzes project data to determine accuracy and overall status; reports results to appropriate program/project manager.
Supports program or project managers in identifying and resolving issues related to specific aspects of the project or project management.
Works with other project staff to assist in resolving issues related to budget, schedule and technical milestones.
May provide program or software engineering input or similar infrastructure/mobilization expertise to the project, identifying and resolving technical issues on a project.
May coordinate quality assurance or quality control on small projects.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
4-year degree in Business or Computer Science (or related curriculum) and 0-2 years of project management experience.Requires 2+ years’ experience in business analysis, Agile framework using Scrum, Integration, and cloud computing skills/experience desired or an equivalent combination of work experience and education..
Experience with project planning and scheduling, Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word)
Highly organized and possess strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Proficient in use of project management scheduling tools
Comfortable with project metrics and reporting
Business Analysis skills (e.g., conducts user interviews, captures use stories, system requirements, assists with definition of system specifications and scope, analyzes requirements against existing system)
Knowledge of project management, requirements definition, development methodologies, and project planning controls used from project startup through closeout.
Knowledge in theScrumapproach toagilesoftwaredevelopmentor infrastructure projects which leverage a hybrid or cloud architecture.
Written and oral communication skills appropriate for the position, including the ability to speak well in basic professional situations (may include communication via telephone or in person).Ability to write basic documents (may include email or memos). Typically communicates with a limited group of individuals (employees and some managers) throughout the organization and may occasionally communicate with those outside of the organization (i.e. clients, vendors).
Ability to effectively communicate with users and team members on technical and non-technical subjects.
Ability to pursue opportunities that will build experience and skills within a project; willingness to respond to evolving demands or assignments as a project moves ahead toward delivery and closeout.
A Project Management professional is expected to exhibit and demonstrate professional qualities including leadership, initiative, decisiveness, responsibility, thoroughness, diligence, and resourcefulness, throughout the course of all projects and assignments.
