POSITION OVERVIEW :

Parsons IS Program Management Office is seeking a PMO Operations Analyst to join our team. Candidates must have exceptional customer service skills, positive attitude and demonstrated ability to learn and adapt in a comprehensive environment. Parsons PMO Operations Analysts are expected to learn Parsons/industry business acumen processes, remain current with technology trends and demonstrate use of this knowledge in working with key stakeholders and project teams.

The PMO Operations Analyst also possesses the skills and experience to perform the following duties:

Participates in team collaboration in the definition, improvement and execution of procedures and tools used by the Parsons IS Program Management Office (PMO). Will provide support to several projects concurrently as it relates to the IS PMO Operational activities. Responsible for the delivery of small IS Projects and/or specific scope in support oflarge projects.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provided project support and/or delivery of small projects

  • Has general knowledge of PMI and Parsons program management best practices, business processes, new and emerging IT technologies and delivery methodologies related to program management

  • Team member supporting the IS PMO operations, including usage of the PMIS system, accuracy of data, period close activities and preparation of period close reports.

  • Ability to collaborate on the impact(s) of project change requests and schedule slippages; inform project managers and IS PMO Operations team of potential impacts to assist in effective decision making strategy(ies).

  • Collaborates with the IS PMO Operations team to develop What-If Scenarios to assist in resource capacity planning, project forecasting and provides historical project information for analytical purposes.

  • Collaborates in the development of resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for program management day-to-day operational activities.

  • Provides feedback/input to the Director of IS PMO and IS PMO Operations Manager on project management performance related to project lifecycle and period close as it relates to Portfolio Reporting.

  • Responsible for creating/maintaining training material, templates, work instructions in support of the IS PMO Best Practices

  • Ensure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company.

  • Represent the IS PMO team in various project governance and inter-departmental forums.

  • Works in collaboration with the Director of IS PMO, PMO Operations Manager to track portfolio milestones, cross project dependencies, and major risks/issues while developing, maintaining, and reporting on the overall integrated portfolio plan.

  • Build, foster, and maintain excellent stakeholder-to-partner relationships with all levels of the matrix organization.

  • May manage small to medium-sized projects in addition to operational responsibilities.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in Business or Computer Science (or related curriculum) and 2-5 years of relevant IT experience and at least 1 years of progressive experience in project management. Business analysis, system integration, and cloud computing skills/experience desired. Ability to travel up to 20%.

Certifications:

Required: Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP)

Special Consideration will be given for certifications in at least one of the following

P6 certification

Project Management Institute Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
