In this role, you will review the designs and perform verification of electrical systems used in power generation. Expect to review drawings and validate equipment and systems used in powerhouses around central and northern California. This might include exciters, governors, generators and control systems. Assist maintenance and operations engineers in ensuring the safety and quality of these systems is in place so that energy can be delivered on time and within specifications.
You can expect to assist the clients engineering team to ensure all systems and components that are in their facilities, meet drawing requirements and electrical standards. You may be involved in generating detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
This position involves about 70% office work, and 30 % field work visiting facilities and performing walk-downs to review systems. So, if you enjoy some travel, expect to see the mountains, desert and oceans of California and apply today!

BS degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related field)
3+ years of related work experience in design/review/verification of Electrical systems, preferably with Electrical power related systems (like exciters, governors, generations, control systems, for example).
EIT preferred. PE Preferred.
Hydro Power Generation experience is a plus but not required.
Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background.
Must have desire and ability to coordinate with the client to review and oversee electrical facilities/systems review/verification
Must have strong interpersonal skills to work with client teams and enjoy being hands on and working in the field occasionally to review actual systems and equipment.
