The Rail/Transit Division of Parsons Transportation Group is looking for highly motivated individuals why want to be part of a select group of engineers working in the Rail Transit Industry. You would be working on transit jobs across the country and have an opportunity to develop in an Industry that needs bright minds.
There is a need for an Engineer II to support the team efforts with this and other programs. The individual must be able to think on their own and work around problems with little supervision.
Perform traction Power calculations and designs for traction power systems (DC) for both commuter rail and rail transit systems projects. Perform analysis of fault currents, equipment sizes and duty ratings, design ground grids, perform fault analysis, work with other traction power, electrical and facilities engineers. Work also includes low and medium voltage AC design and troubleshooting. Perform simulations of traction power systems.
Performs conventional and moderately-complex engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline. The Engineer at this level is proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices, and Company procedures. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations, is expected.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. He/she must be able to communicate with supervisors, other disciplines and clients. Having the ability to visualize the design and/or solution is a must.
Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
Provides support for other engineering activities as required. May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
· BS Electrical Engineering
· 5+ years experience in electrical engineering or related field.
· Registered as a PE or able to sit for exam and obtain registration.
· Ability to work as part of a team. Familiarity and preferably proficiency with electrical design tools such as ETAP.
· Familiar with DC and AC protective relaying schemes and equipment.
