Serves on a full time basis, work as needed, as an Engineering Technician III supporting the TSSC-IV (T4) Program through various regions, based out of Boston, MA, Atlanta, GA or Kansas City, KS. Overtime and 100% Travel will be required.
Candidate must demonstrate skills to maintain, operate and coordinate the use of heavy machinery (Excavator/Backhoe/Skid Steer)
The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of professional experience or a combination of experience and related training and perform the following duties:
Performs non-routine and complex assignments involving local coordination of on-site work, working with a 2-man self-perform crew and cradle to grave operation for projects of relatively limited scope.Must be proficient in operating large excavators and skid steeres.Selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts. Contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work; reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others.Projects at at various locations throughout USA and will require 100% travel.May train and be assisted by lower level technicians. Performs such duties as:
Monitors adherence to master plans and schedules.
Ability to lead and direct the work of a 2 man self-perform crew assigned to the project from technical, engineering, construction and administrative areas.
When on site, serve as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with the customer.
Maintain, operate and coordinate the use of heavy machinery as required to complete the demolition/restoration work at various sites
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
5-8 years of heavy equipment/construction experience.
Must be able to operate both a skid steere and a large excavator.
Familiar with Civil and Electrical Engineering Drawings.
Moderate overtime required.
100% Travel CONUS
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Must be familiar with general construction and proficiantly operate heavy equipment.
Should have experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel Project Experience in email and internet usage and the ability to quickly learn new computer programs.
Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.
T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons in August 2012. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
