Computer System Product Technologist

Parsons is seeking Computer System Product Technologist to support technically diverse and challenging systems that are evolving with the technology landscape. Your role will be essential to the design, implementation, validation, management, and delivery of these computing systems. This is your chance to help us with a vital mission.


•Become the product expert for mini-cloud Computer System consisting of the following:

oCompute resources,

oStorage arrays,

oVMWare virtualization environment,

oRedhat Linux based VM’s,

oSoftware Applications that combine data analysis with an intuitive user interface and data visualization.

oHigh speed data ingest,

oNetwork switching, and

oNetwork routing components

•Assess system functionality and performance

•Develop configuration control documentation

•Track configuration baselines

•Perform maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting

•Coordinate manufacturing QA/QC testing

•Provide technical support and training to project team and customer

Required Qualifications

•A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Computer Security, Information Technology or related discipline

•Must have 8+ years of relevant professional experience.

•Proof of US Citizenship is required

•Applicants selected for employment must have an active security clearance and must meet additional eligibility requirements for access to classified information or materials.

Required Skills

Understanding of computer system hardware components to include

oCompute servers,

oStorage array systems,

oBackplane architectures,

oNetwork switching equipment and

oRouting equipment.

Understanding of software system components to include

oVMWare vSphere, vSAN and ESXi virtualization technologies;

oLinux operating systems including RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu;

oMultithreading, parallel processing and containerization technologies;

oCustom application software

Understanding of Computer Networking to include

oSecurity protocols,

oPacket encryption,





oRouting Protocols

Understanding of the process to attain an Authority to Operate certificate to include

oSecurity controls implemented through the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) methods

Desired Skills

Network Device Administration

•Experience with Cisco and Juniper Routing equipment

•Router with Routing Protocols (RIP, BGP, OSPF)

•L2/3 Switches (VLAN and Routing Protocols)

•SOHO device configuration

IT Administration

•Windows OS Loading and Updates on a closed network

•Linux OS Loading and Repository on a closed network (Ubuntu, RHEL, Centos, Kali)

•Backup and Restore implementation

•Windows and Linux Software Repository and Build Machine Maintenance

•User Account administration

•Enforce IT equipment usage policy

•Server, Data Storage, Workstation, Laptop configuration and setup

Network Tool Experience







•Unix shell programming

•Windows bat programming

•Python/Perl Scripting

Network Services Administration



•Apache Web Server

•Firewall Configuration

•Access Control Lists and IP Table configuration
