POSITION OVERVIEW :

The Technical Director will report to the Director of Engineering overseeing a large set of programs.The candidate will be assigned to support the Senior Technical Director of a large multi-disciplinary team of engineering professionals that are helping solve the most critical cyber challenges for the United States Government.The candidate will implement and improve upon established procedures while performing a variety of tasks related to leading the technical execution of a high-visibility program. The candidate will be relied upon for their detail-oriented approach towards accurately understanding the complex system.The ideal candidate thrives on being challenged.Overall, the candidate will become a key part of elevating the efficiency and performance of the entire growing team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Technical Director must have extensive experience in the following areas:

  • Requirements

  • Help the customer properly articulate operational needs and capability gaps

  • Transform these needs and gaps into requirements

  • Analyze the requirements for feasibility and conceptualize the architecture into a vision

  • Flow down vision to technical leads on the program

  • Collaborates with leadership including Senior Technical Director, Director of Engineering, Lead Systems Engineer and Program Manager.

  • Design

  • Provide consultation to hardware and software teams designing the system

  • Support the presentation / defense of the design to the customer

  • Research

  • Provide consultation to teams performing research on the next-gen system

  • Support the presentation / defense of the research to the customer

  • Technology

  • Develop vision and roadmap for technology on cyber program that covers computer systems, software systems, and networking in the defensive cyber operations realm.

  • Understanding of the industry trends that drive and impact cyber, mission planning, data visualization, data analytics, server systems, virtualization, cloud, software and networking technologies

  • Secures systems utilizing Risk Management Framework processes

  • Implements DevOps framework to support build server automation for continuous integration of software build products.

  • Writing

  • Provide consultation to teams performing technical writing

  • Support the editing / delivery of artifacts to the customer

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology fields and 20+ years of related work experience.

  • Proof of US Citizenship is required

  • Candidate must meet eligibility requirements for a security clearance by the U.S. Government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required. Additionally, a demonstrated proficiency in keyboard skills and the utilization of Microsoft Office are required.Strong working experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.Strong background in software engineering and networking is required.
