Our extensive experience in this field combined with yourstrong electrical experience, will propel your career forward. We need our electricians at this level to be fully qualified professionals with solid experience, and independently complete complicated assignments.

In this role the Electrical Superintendent will provide on-site administrative and technical management of the related activities including necessary planning, organization, direction, coordination and control for field personnel in a manner that supports the profit and growth objectives of the company. This position also requires extensive field electrical work.

  • Plan, supervise and work side by side with electricians and helpers.

  • Projects are in multiple sites including sites in Virginia and Ohio. Multiple other locations as needed. Travel is required

  • Supervise the operations on the electrical construction sites

  • Monitor the short-term schedule

  • Quality control coordination responsibilities with other trades

  • Ability to assist Project Manager prepare construction schedules

  • Maintain daily reports, safety meetings, man-hour reports, quality reports, etc.

  • Coordinate production and attend meetings

  • Plan, organize and direct production in accordance with the contracted scope of work

  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs

  • Coordinate work with Project Manager to ensure that requested material is expedited and received as needed for the construction of project

  • Ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards

  • Recognize and communicate to Project Manager any priority project problems, such as employee, job costing issues or any need for concern

  • Responsible for ensuring that all installations are correct per NEC, USACE/Military specs and engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Knowledge of administration and management. Must be able to plan, allocate resources, manage production, and coordinate people, equipment and sub-contractors.

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in electrical construction.

  • Strong mathematical abilities and the ability to remember words, numbers and other information.

  • Must be able to read, understand and apply information obtained from electrical drawings and job specifications.

  • Knowledge of the latest NEC, NFPA 70E and EM-385 codes.

  • Must be able to pass a NACI background investigation

  • Must have good skills using Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills

  • Must possess driver’s license with a clean driving record to permit driving of company vehicles

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment.

  • Must be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to reach overhead.

  • Substantial physical effort required.

  • Work is regularly performed in outdoor weather conditions or other elements where temperatures can exceed extreme conditions.

  • Graduation from high school supplemented by an appropriate apprenticeship training program and extensive electrical system maintenance experience and a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.

  • Valid Journeyman card/certification

  • Preferred: Electrical Metering Training, Gas/Water Metering Training, Medium Voltage Experience, Generator Experience, OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors, NFPA-70E Arc-Flash and Qualified Worker Training.
