Parsons is currently searching for a Senior Test Commissioning Manager to join our Automated People Mover Team.
Parsons is seeking aSenior Test Commissioning Managerto plan, coordinate and manage the field test activities on the Chicago O’Hare Automated People Mover (APM) Project. TheTest Commissioning Managerwill become intimately familiar with contract scope, requirements, specifications, and deliverables; monitor and manage selected subcontractor development and deliverables; utilize best practices for change management, and quality assurance; and perform other duties as assigned.
The focus area of the Test CommissioningManager will be in planning, managing and executing the project testing and commissioning activities. Key responsibilities include: reviewing technical specifications, developing and reviewing test plans, test procedures and systems integration plans, coordinating the overall test plan schedule, and overseeing and managing test execution. The test program will be made up of tests which are performed by either Parsons, as the prime, or by our Subcontractors.
The ideal candidate will provide hands-on support to all aspects of the design, development, testing, documentation, and deployment of APM systems. The Test Commissioning Manager must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate personal initiative with a passion for details, problem solving, learning, and applying analytical decision-making principles.
The selected candidate will work closely with others in the team and with subcontractors to coordinate specific work plans to adhere to the project schedule. This will include developing and updating detailed test schedules as well as monitoring progress of testing activities to assure proper testing is completed on time. You will attend project meetings, maintain accurate and detailed record of testing activities, and work alongside managers, engineers and technicians responsible for the testing process. You will make recommendations for appropriate responses and mitigation of technical problems so that the APM Systemmeets the required safety, quality and design specifications and standards. Your knowledge of APM and driverless systems plus your ability to meet installation schedules will be keys to your success.
4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) and 15+ years of related work experience. Professional Engineer registration may be required. 10-12+ years of testing and commissioning experience on Automated People Mover Systems or Driverless Transit systems
Demonstrated experience and success in planning and executing a plan to test and commission new signal systems
Track record of developing and maintaining positive team relationships and delivering toproject and client expectations
Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required. Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
