We are actively looking for an experienced Project Manager to support the Chicago O'Hare International Airport with expansions and modernization to their facility. The airport isexpanding and modernizing an existing three (3) mile Automated People Mover (APM) System for an additional threemiles. As a PM, you will be responsible for the scope development and management, as well as the oversight, for the construction and installationof automated people mover systems. You will be expected to interface directly with the client and oversee the subcontractors, during the execution of this project.
Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.
Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
Negotiate any all matters as they relate to cost, schedule contract matters with Owner, Subcontractors and Suppliers
Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement and payroll operations, etc., if required.
Works with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project. Ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
Works with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the client and company management of any such changes. The Project Manager is specifically responsible for maintaining current and timely change orders.
Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule. Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items.
4-year degree in Engineering or Construction plus 10+ years of related work experience at an Electrical Contracting Company with transit, industrial/controls and APM systems.
Knowledge of Bombardier Transportation vehicles and systems greatly desired. Previously experience at an Electrical Construction Company is required.
Demonstrated self-performing experience in the construction field, on large, complex, heavy civil electrical projects. With specific experience with, electrical construction, aviation construction and installation of automated people mover systems at airports.
Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background. Professional registration may also be required.
Maturity in interaction and ability to operate self-sufficiently in the field.
Incumbent must meet Parsons’ project management certification requirements.
Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills.
Must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
