Parsons is now hiringa Senior Track Engineer for our rapidly expanding transportation project located in Chicago, IL.

We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills.
In this role:you willfocus on the development of track design, and engineering and integration of the track design into the overall design concept for a given project. This position will entail completing and checking complex engineering calculations, coordinating with other engineers and the engineering designers, and engineering management in order to assure proper track configuration.
Recommend solutions to track, alignment, track work
Provide confirmation that the work product resulting from our scope meets the budget and schedule
Offer technical direction, and report status
Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
8-10years of designing and engineering rail and transit track with heavy emphasis on track alignment and design, preferably on both transit and freight lines
Proven abilities to supervise the completion of deliverables to client expectations and under contract obligations
Proficiency in utilizing MicroStation and InRoads
BS degree in Engineering
Experience in engineering track alignment and track designs plus your ability to offer sound technical guidance to the designers and engineers working on this task
Potential to perform in a lead capacity
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required
Possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
