Position Overview:

This position provides technical expertise and support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling and Simulation (MS) Operations Support (ESO) Threat Modeling Center (TMC). The TMC is responsible for producing and verifying technical data in support of the production of the Integrated Threat Packages (ITPs) to meet Agency event requirements.The advisor provides technical leadership and high-quality analytical support for MS threat tool development for ITP production capability and threat missile trajectory generation.


Experience with the Intelligence Community to gather threat missile data from various sources and personnel across an organization

Ability to review and verify ITP signature codes developed by other vendors to assess conformance to requirements; and independently use, analyze, and test these current and next-generation signature codes (OSC, OPTISIG, CHARM, SOCRATES-P)

Ability to perform in-depth quality assurance reviews of kinematic (trajectory) and signaturegeneration representations and associated sample data (kinematic, RCS, Plume, Extended Plume, and IR Hardbody)

Experience with and knowledge of modeling and simulation (MS); knowledge of threat missile MS preferred, including threat kinematic and signature data generation

Experience with Project West Wing and similar activities

Familiarity withMDA organization and mission

Familiarity with the MDA’s Integrated Master Test Plan (IMTP) event planning and execution.

Ability to work with diverse teams of groups and individuals through the organization with differing perspectives and roles and responsibilities

Familiarity with industry and DoD verification, validation, and accreditation (VVA) standards and practices

Leadership experience and ability to brief highly technical data to a wide variety of audiences

Experience working with technical staff, schedulers, and project managers to make technical recommendations to organizational leadership

Demonstrated performance in creative and innovative thinking and problem solving

Energetic, motivated, self-starting , team player

Adaptable to changing customer mission and support needs

Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to a variety of complex problems in an ambiguous environment

Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

Understanding of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) operation and organization

Experience in investigating and recommending innovative technical approaches and process improvements to improve quality of the delivered threat products and to reduce schedule risk.

Ph.D. in applicable field desired
