Are you an independent and self-motivated engineer or developer who could help design, build, test and integrate core solutions that protect and defend the DoDIN architecture?

We would love for you to work with us in our customer's mission space to help in a big DevOps way! You’ll be immersed in cutting edge hardware and systems running vendor tools as well as open source technologies like BroIDS and Snort, scripting, coding to APIs, and enabling the mission to succeed in defending against our nation’s adversaries.

Performance Objectives:

  • Keep in sync with customers performing high priority mission as well as offsite engineers to ensure we are delivering exactly what is needed to enable mission

  • Build multi-node hardware systems (hardware provided) from the ground up using our Puppet/Kickstart configuration and understand the system so well that you can help train and suggest updates throughout your work

  • Run/change/update all-things Linux easily and comfortably on a daily basis

  • Write code in Ruby, Bash and use Puppet, R10k, and Git as needed, to operate with vendor and GOTS hardware and software solutions

  • Show understanding and control in managing your priorities and work with regard to tasking and mission need

  • Understand and utilize standard formats such as XML, JSON, STIX and work with Extract Transform and Load ETLs as needed

  • Show understanding and ability working with databases such as MySQL and PostGres

  • Track all of your work and documentation using Jira and Confluence


  • Twelve years of experience; up to 6 years may be substituted with education (bachelor's degree in computer science or relative degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience; a master's degree an additional 2 years)



  • Background using Splunk or ability to work with Splunk easily

  • Background and abilities with ELK and Ruby
