Serves as a Project Engineer supporting the T4 program in the Great Lakes Region. The ideal candidate will possess 3 to 5 years of experience and knowledge in Electrical Engineering. The candidate will attend site surveys in support of designand develop site survey reports including the evaluation of existing conditions and recommendations for the design based on the conditions, codes, and the Client design criteria. Creates and reviews design drawings and specifications for the alteration, modernization, or expansion of FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) facilities. The candidate will review technical submittals for specification, drawing and code compliance, prepare construction bid documents to include specifications and participate in proposal evaluations for construction contracts to qualified construction subcontractors. They may also provide periodic on-site inspection of construction work.

The candidate will provide engineering support during construction including responses to requests for information, development of independent estimates for potential change orders, and submittals review to ensure compliance with design documents, evaluate field problems and recommended solutions.Travel throughout the United States and it's territories, but primarily within the FAA Great Lakes Region for site surveys, inspections, and meetings will be required.


  • 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) from an accredited ABET university

  • 3 plus years of related work experience

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate may be required

  • Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering

  • Computer Aided Design using Microstation© experience is preferred.

  • Federal Government experience is preferred.

  • Excellent technical writing skills for assessment report preparation.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications and construction contracts.

  • Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.

T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons in August 2012. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
