The ideal candidate will have a proven understanding and application of the minimum standards, procedures, and specifications for safeguarding and control of COMSEC material in accordance with USAF Communications Security policies and procedures during the system life cycle to achieve stakeholder objectives for the protection of assets—across all forms of adversity characterized as disruptions, hazards, and threats. Demonstrate an applied understanding of the duties of personnel required to use, access, or otherwise control COMSEC material.


  • Communicate requirements for access to COMSEC material.

  • Requirements for establishing COMSEC accounts including contractor account requirements. Account upgrades and downgrades. COMSEC account manager selection, facility accreditation, etc.

  • COMSEC Material Control System (CMCS) including forms, files, and transfer reports; hand receipts; possession reports; conversion of COMSEC material; etc.

  • Keying material management. (Physical and Electronic)

  • Physical security including TEMPEST; COMSEC controlled/closed area designations and access controls; Controlled Cryptographic Item Control (CCI) requirements, etc.

  • Routine destruction of COMSEC material.

  • COMSEC emergency action procedures.

  • COMSEC incident reporting requirements.

  • Audit/Inspection of COMSEC accounts.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years ofCOMSEC experience as COMSEC Account Manager or Alternate.

  • Proficiency in performing COMSEC account management and Electronic Key Management System (EKMS)

  • Familiarity with Key Management Infrastructure (KMI).

  • Familiarity with NSA/CSS Policy Manual 3-16 Control of Communications Security (COMSEC) Material; CNSSI 4000 series; and DoD 5220.22-M.

  • High School Diploma required / Bachelors’ Degree preferred.

  • Must currently hold a minimum of DoD 8570.01 IAT II certification (ex. Security+).

  • Active security clearance required
