The Systems Analyst in this role will support the Engineering Operations Management Directorate (DEO) of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in all system engineering activities of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). Works within a team of senior functional leads to integrate MDA engineering activities across multiple organizations, and define and articulate engineering assessment requirements and test results used in the characterization of BMDS capabilities and limitations. This position requires excellent written and verbal skills as well as exceptional MS Office skills.

More specific responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a lead System Analyst in articulating and communicating BMDS characteristics and capabilities to internal MDA organizations, senior MDA leadership, and to organizations outside of MDA.

  • Review assessment requirements and analysis plans, and prepare product development timelines and schedule risk

  • Determine assessment requirements, identify assessment sub-objectives, critical assessment conditions and make recommendations regarding the articulation and communications of BMDS capabilities.

  • Provide written assessments, briefings and recommendations on the disposition and/or articulation of technical BMDS requirement and capability descriptions

  • Draft information/decision papers and briefings, and staff meeting charts

  • Provide graphical and media support, process and track personnel actions, draft award packages, compile and maintain "Smartbooks"

  • Receive, , distribute for comment, and manage responses to congressional, media, and external agency request for information


  • Strong ability to communicate in written form; technicalbackground, ability to interpret, summarize and communicate engineering issuesand test results

  • 5 year’s experience with Missile Defense Agency or otherDepartment of Defense acquisition programs involvingradar, fire control, and/or weapon subsystemsdesired

  • Systems Engineering management experience in defense orrelated industry desired

  • Capability to develop and present reports and presentationsto senior management-level personnel

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanentresidency is required due to government of federal requirement.

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Operations, or Engineeringpreferred and can be used in lieu of years of experience required.

  • Experience with Missile Defense Agency, Ballistic MissileDefense System, and/or Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GM) Program Office
