If so, Parsons has an opening for a Cloud DevOps Engineer in the greater Columbia, MD area. These are critical times in the world of cyber security and Parsons need your help to make the world a safer and more secure place—one computer at a time.

In this role, you will create and modernize mission-driven components that interact with evolving corporate cloud technology; design and develop custom components using NiagaraFiles; develop and customize ETL and data transport processors using NiFi and python scripting.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Design compliant data flows that satisfy customer requirements

  • Automate deployment of data flows and monitor automation

  • Act independently to resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of mission requirements

  • Maintain systems to meet SSP requirements through patching and security updates.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data flow problems and anomalies

  • Report on data flow metrics and processing statistics

Required Skills:

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in this area

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline in the area of expertise from an accredited college or university

  • Linux and Niagara Files (NiFi) development skills

  • Experience in writing python scripts

  • Experience in deploying applications in a cloud environment

AN ACTIVE TS/SCI + POLY

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with creating custom ETL and data transport processors

  • Experience with moving, transforming, normalizing, and wrapping data for transport

  • Experience with interacting with corporate cloud resources

  • Good communication skills in order to understand customer requirements and report on resolutions

  • Familiarity with puppet and/or saltstack

  • Familiarity with data flow formats, smart data tagging and network protocols

  • Familiarity with HDFS and cloud technology

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to problem solve

  • Proficiency with a variety of Microsoft programs

  • Must have proficiency and excellent working knowledge of Atlassian's Confluence collaboration tool

  • Understanding of Site Security Plan (SSP) requirements
