Senior Civil Engineer – Assistant Utility Manager – Fresno, California and San Diego, California

Parsons is now hiring an experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a desire to work on road and highway projects that change the urban fabric of our community. The Senior Engineer will support design engineering work for the California High Speed Rail Project, in the Fresno area.

We need our Senior Engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills.
In this role:You will develop utility relocation plans; in conjunction with roadway and rail alignments, layouts, horizontal and vertical controls, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and ADA requirements. Maintain schedule and coordinate within a larger team to coordinate construction staging and utility conflict resolution. You will apply advancedengineering techniques and analyses which may involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications.Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locationsis expected.
This position is located full-time in Fresno and allows for weekend commuting home to other base locations in California.
Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
Oversee and Manage subconsultants and their work product.
Maintain Schedules and Delivery Tracking Logs.
Will be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and 8-10 years related experience
Utility Design Experience is desirable
Design-Build Experience is desirable
Utility Relocation Construction Management Experience is desirable
California Professional Engineer (PE) registrationis required.
Proficiency in utilizingMicroStation/InRoadsand other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
