The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is seeking a Project Engineer to support Targets and Countermeasures programs. The successful candidate will have demonstrated capabilities and experience in missile systems and technical program planning and coordination. Primary duties will include technical assistance to the Government Customer in the oversight of contractor target system design, development, assembly/integration, test and evaluation, and delivery of target components/systems and ground support equipment, and mission operations.
Monitor Prime Contractor technical performance
Review and assess Prime Contractor technical data
Review objective evidence of major technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.)
Perform trade studies and special assessments
Monitor missile system integration and test activities
Review ground and flight test objectives, data requirements and data analysis methodologies
Represent the interests of the customer in Failure Review Boards, Working Groups, IPTs and Engineering Review Boards and Technical Interchange Meetings
Identify and/or anticipate technical problems or issues and formulate plans for resolution
Identify areas of technical program risk and assist in formulation of risk control plans
Develop technical briefings and decision packages for presentation to management
Travel to contractor and test locations, CONUS and OCONUS, may be required (15-20%)
8+ yrs of applicable, related experience
Missile develop programs
Missile Range and Launch operations
Developing and presenting management briefings
Technical proposal development and evaluation
Knowledge and/or Familiarity with:
Demonstrated comprehension of missile and/or target component/systems design and performance
Missile Defense Agency or Targets and Countermeasures Program Office
Systems Engineering processes
Models and simulations
