SNE MS VV SENIOR ENGINEER

HUNTSVILLE, AL

Job Description:

Senior Engineer to support Missile Defense Agency Systems Engineering Analysis Team by providing technical assessment and assist with technical evaluations of sensors MS through the VV plan.

Specific Responsibilities:

The senior engineer will support the MDA/SN Systems Engineering (SNE) Analysis Team through technical assessment of sensors MS requirement and performance specifications and assist with preparation of AoAs and COAs for sensors MS product development and VV activities; assist with technical evaluations of sensors MS development contractor proposals and cost estimates; develop and maintain the sensors MS VV Plan and help guide MDA/SN validation teams through the VV plan process; update action trackers and a monthly status report for SN MS VV activities; participate in reviewing and coordinating technical issues with MDA MS accreditation organizations; participate in environmental model development reviews and accreditation assessments; provide reviews of all SN MS VV proposals, plans, technical memos, and final reports/briefings; support the development and refinement of radar MS performance parameters and statistically based acceptability criteria. Occasional travel may be required.

Skills/ Competencies:

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) level knowledge and experience in MDA/SN radars operational systems and their system interactions.

  • Knowledge and experience in BMD systems

  • Knowledge and experience with MDA/SN MS Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VVA)

  • Knowledge and experience in MDA/SN Sensor MS operations and analysis

Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience and Bachelor of Science degree minimum

  • Possess strong analytical and data assessment skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong applied statistics background

  • Capability to coordinate technical tasks among various lab assets, assist with solving technical issues, monitor progress and relay status information to senior management level personnel

  • Candidate must have at least a Secret Clearance
