Ready to put your landscape design skills to use on major marquee projects? Parsons is seeking designers who are experienced in landscape architecture with demonstrated knowledge of landscape (planting and irrigation design, erosion control, aesthetics, and/or design standards, practices, and techniques). Parsons is now hiring an experienced Landscape Architect with a passion for innovation and design.

Parsons’ extensive experience in this field, combined with your design knowledge, will propel your career forward as you use your skills supporting various projects in Parsons’ Infrastructure group.Your day might vary between developing designs for landscape architectural public realm projects for major expressways and road systems to large commercial and retail site development for major projects or onsite planning of large scale commercial centers, parks, resorts and hotels.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs a variety of assignments such as conducting landscape architectural studies, developing design and presentation of high quality landscape concept drawings and design criteria, and preparing related reports.

Assist department lead and provide project specific information in a timely and consistent manner.

Compiles and analyzes data on such site conditions such as but not limited to land use, site context, geographic location, soil, vegetation, and rock features, drainage, and location of structures for preparation of landscaping plans.

Prepares technical design packages through to tender.

Writes construction specifications and prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.Interfaces with suppliers as required.

Coordinates with other relevant disciplines such as Civil Engineers (Roads, Traffic, Drainage, Utilities), Mechanical, Structural, Lighting and Electrical Engineers, Architects and design consultants.

Liaise with juniors, mid-level and other senior landscape architects, plan, program and delegate within the team structure.

Provide high level liaison with Clients and Client’s representatives.

Prepare contracts within budget requirements and provide accurate costing information to the client or quantity surveyors (assist in preparation of Bill of Quantity or Estimates).

Performs quality assurance and control consistently throughout the development of the drawings and submittals.

Develop maintenance plans for completed sites.

Coordinates work with engineering and construction units at project site.

Provides the required seal and signature of a professional landscape architect when required by statute or contract.

Maintain affiliations with professional societies to keep abreast of technologies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture (BS or BA) is required with 7+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 5+ years related experience.

Professional registration is required at this level. DOT experience is preferred.

Requires proficiency in the application of landscape architectural design standards, practices, and techniques, as well as a demonstrated proficiency in sketching, rendering, 3D modeling, and presentation drawing.

Proficiency in CAD (MicroStation and AutoCAD) and other PC software packages typically associated with landscape architectural design is also required (InDesign, Sketch Up, 3D Studio Max, PhotoShop).

Completion of the relevant professional qualifications and affiliation to a recognized landscape body in the country of education.

Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate in graphic, verbal and written form of English. Team player (working with those at various organizational levels). Take direction well and implement changes as necessary. Ability to do conceptual plans and presentations. Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment. Strong desire to be the best and produce the best work.
