Are you seeking a Electrical Engineering/Computer Science Co-Op/Intern role that would expose you to a wide variety of engineering and construction assignments on both large complex projects and small developmental pursuits? Parsons is seeking to hire multiple Co-Op/Intern Engineers in the San Francisco Bay Area, in the fields of Electrical Engineering/Computer Science Engineering, to work on variousmass transit and transportation systems projects. RESPONSIBILITIES :

TheCo-Op/Intern Engineer is a developmental role, being trained under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Parsons’ people and working environments. Co-Op/Intern Engineers may perform a wide variety of engineering, design, and development assignments by applying basic engineering principles and analyses, doing detailed design activities such as producing specifications and drawings, applying structured software development techniques, requirements discovery and analysis, conducting field survey work, configuring and providing written inputs to related documentation, and doing other tasks within the computer science and electrical engineering disciplines. Assignments will typically serve multiple goals including fulfilling project/customer objectives and providing opportunities for professional growth. Co-Op/Intern Engineers shall be capable of learning quickly and becoming an integral part of systems engineering teams on both large and small-scale projects.Successful candidates will be able to maintain high personal productivity while working interactively with other team members and client groups.

It is expected that the Engineer Co-Op/Intern will have interest, experience, or aptitude in one or more of the following specialty areas:

  • Electrical design and drawing, for facilities and devices

  • Communications and networking design and deployment

  • Radio and wireless analysis, design, and field deployment

  • Ductbank/conduit design and other aspects of mechanical/civil design interfacing to electrical

  • Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), 3D and Building Information Modeling

  • Functional and detailed design specifications for software and hardware

  • Software development, verification and validation

  • C++ and/or other forth level languages

  • Discrete and real time simulation

  • Database development and management

  • User interfaces and technical training.

Co-Op/Intern engineers are encouraged and supported by Parsons to attain engineer-in-training (EIT), professional engineer (PE), and other professional certifications while working at Parsons, under the guidance of more senior engineers. Parsons offers a generous bonus program for first attainment of professional engineer and other selected professional certifications.

Willingness to travel to other Parsons office, project, supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected. Co-Op/Intern engineers should be comfortable and safe working in active railroad environments and construction sites.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be in process of a4-year degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or a related field and0-3 years of related work experience, or equivalent experience and qualifications.
