POSITION OVERVIEW :
Manages all on-site field construction activities associated with the completion of a medium- to large-size project (typically a medium-size project has a construction value of $20 to $100 million, large-size project greater than $100 million.)Applies a comprehensive knowledge of one or more of the following disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the means, methods and techniques to be utilized for installation.
· Traction power substations (Electrical)
· Traction power 34.5kV cables (Electrical)
· Train controls (Communications, Train Control)
· Transit system security, CCTV, Intrusion detection and radio systems (Communications)
· Passenger information (wayfinding, public announcement) systems (Communications)
Successful candidates must be thoroughly familiar with required contractual obligations and technical aspects of facilities to be erected.In addition to construction supervision and management, the successful candidate is also responsible for field administration, field engineering and inspection, construction quality control, construction safety and environmental compliance.Willingness to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area is expected.
4-year degree in related engineering fields or construction management. Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction or construction management of large rail and transit projects. Registration in the State of California as a Professional Engineer is preferred.
Requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices. Proven leadership and management capability is also required, as well as good written and oral communications skills. Must be familiar with scheduling and estimating software.
