Parsons is now hiring a Construction Engineer with a desire to work on practical solutions to various projects inRedding, CA.

POSITION OVERVIEW :

With minimal supervision, independently performs all aspects of field engineering assignments including development and tracking of cost plans, schedules, contracts, and construction progress for an assigned group of task orders. Incumbent is also responsible for supporting subcontracts and assure compliance, the application of accepted construction technology and standards, and the acceptable standardization of materials and supplies. Willingness to relocate to construction site locations is expected.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

Performs a variety of field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of construction as well as operations and maintenance projects.

May monitors and coordinates all contractors' activities for assigned area.

Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.

Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff. Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.

Coordinate resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s).

Provides cost and schedule and progress appraisal to the area manager and supervisor.

Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction / maintenance activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.

Interfaces with the client and upper-level management.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Additional Details

  • Adept at reviewing safety plans, construction plans, project schedules, and engineering drawings.

  • Demonstrated ability to support multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Must be an excellent communicator with strong emotional intelligence in order to function as a seamlessly integrated team member in a matrixed owner’s environment consisting of both employee and contract staff.

  • Ability to effectively use MS Office computer software and familiarity with industry standard project management tools to manage cost and schedule.

  • Willingness to relocate to Redding, CA area is required

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience, as well as 8 to 12 years of experience in field construction is expected. Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects is preferred.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices. Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with cost/schedule software other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction.
