SR. CONSTRUCTION MANAGER, WATER/WASTEWATER – CALIFORNIA
Parsons is a world-class leader in providing in-depth engineering, construction, technical, and management services. We are currently seeking to hire a Senior Construction Manager capable of leading construction management efforts for major water/wastewater projects/programs in California and throughout the southeast. Particular experience with large, complex water/wastewater treatment plant projects is a critical need. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to or accept a long term assignment in California . This position can be based in Northern, Central, or Southern California . A PE or CCM is required for this role.
Oversee construction contractor activities and direct construction inspection activities to ensure the safe, on time and on budget delivery of multiple, simultaneous complex projects.
Manage a large, diverse construction management team, including resident engineer(s), construction inspectors, start-up specialists, etc.
Coordinate closely with owners, designers, and other stakeholders on claims management and conflict resolution.
Prepare and implement Construction Management and Inspection Plans.
Attend and present construction management updates at regular meetings with owner, designers, and other project stakeholders.
Oversee document control, progress monitoring familiarity with electronic document control systems.
Provide constructability review and help coordinate construction schedules to avoid conflicts.
Ensure effective implementation of all Company and Owner policies and procedures.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Good understanding of safety issues including OSHA regulations.
Proven leadership and management capability is also required, as well as good written and oral communications skills
A 4-year degree in engineering or construction-related field or equivalent construction -related work experience , as well as 20 years or more of experience preferably with the construction and/or upgrade of water/wastewater treatment plant facilities ; however, experience with large complex construction projects will also be considered. Experience in the construction of large municipal wastewater water treatment system projects is essential.
CaliforniaPEorCMAA certification as Construction Manager, or other similar credential is required.
Working knowledge of the water/wastewater treatment plant processes.
Experience with facility start-up and commissioning and project close-out.
Basic knowledge of Primavera and Microsoft Project scheduling software and estimating.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software.
Excellent Safety record.
Comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the methods and techniques to be utilized for installation.
Proven experience in leading large, diverse Construction Management teams at large, complex projects, with a priority given to individuals with water/wastewater treatment plant experience
Strong leadership and management skills, as well as good written and oral communications skills.
