Parsons is seeking Senior Project Manager to develop client relationships, engage in business development activities, manage and deliver projects in the Seattle WashingtonArea. In thisrole, you will work onHigh Profile projectsbringing strategic transportation solutions to our clients in the southern Washington region.

In this role, you will lead, direct and manage every phase of design/build as well as conventional rail/transit projects to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations. In this capacity, the Sr. Project Managermust be capable of managing a project or program valued up to $100 million in total installed cost.Relocation to the job site may be required.

In this role you will provide oversight and direction to multi-disciplined teams, possessing effective management and leadership skills capable of driving the successful completion of projects and structural engineering tasks while helping to strengthen market share by meeting or exceeding client expectations. Our Sr. Project Managers operate as a "seller/doer", running projects and performing BD functions to create new opportunities for Parsons.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

i. Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution. Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.

ii. Collaborates with and performsBusiness Development related work to market and secure additional work with client. Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project. Participates in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.

iii. Works to extract the value out of existing contracts and to view opportunities strategically.

iv. Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.

v. Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria. Responsible for the development and distribution of a one to two-page description of the project to all members of the project team for reference.

vi. Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project. Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths. Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates. Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement and payroll operations, etc., if required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or related technical/business field and 15+ years of related work experience in Rail/Transit is required.

  • Prior experience must include significant rail/transit experience in planning studies and design projects at the Project Manager level.

  • Design/Build experience is required.

  • Experience should also include client management, business development and team management. Establish and maintain client contacts. Strengthen current business ties.

  • Proven experience identifying strategic opportunities within existing projects.

  • Familiarity with traditional and alternative delivery methods is required.

  • Must have experience working with Sound Transit Rail and Transit customers at some point inyour career.

  • Professional Engineer certification required.
