Communications Engineer is assigned to coordinate the works of Communications related construction and is responsible to the ITS Engineer or Resident Engineer. He should work closely with the Electrical Engineer, Materials Engineer and Surveyors throughout the works.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinateand liaise with Stakeholders and Contractor with regard to all constructionapprovals and design changes, as necessary.
Reviewand recommend to Sr ITS Specialist for approval of FSDD.
Monitormaterials submissions and approvals and review updating of Materials Scheduleto mitigate any construction delays.
Generaloversight of Construction’s inspection, surveying and testing requests for CommunicationSystem works.
Reviewand approval of the Contractor’s Communications Drawings as delegated by theResident Engineer.
Coordinateand monitor all inspections, testing and materials reconciliation required tocommission all Communications works, in order to obtain final Approvals.
Verifymeasurements of work taken by Inspectors and Land Surveyors.
Reviewof as – built Communications drawings in coordination with inspectors andsurveyors.
Respondingto technical queries
Preparationof reports and recommendations
Thecoordination of all Communications works with other disciplines
Inspectall workmanship and materials.
Reviewand approve the Contractor’s shop drawings.
Providea “punch list” and final inspection.
Checkand approve “as-built” drawings submitted by the Contractor and maintain astatus log.
4-year degree in Engineering (or related field)
Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate may be required.
Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
