The BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordinator will be based in our Westminster, CO office. The position will perform a variety of field engineering assignments by applying basic engineering techniques and analyses, and will largely be responsible for implementing Parsons Corp.’s BIM initiative for highway and heavy civil projects.
Willingness to relocate to project site locations is expected.
The position requires identification, development, evaluation, implementation and management of BIM standards and procedures. We are seeking an entry level Civil Engineer or a Construction Management major with experience in pertinent applications for implementing BIM to infrastructure projects.
Ideal candidate should be able to work under general directions and independently determine and develop approach to solutions.
Develop and implement BIM standards, templates, automation routines, documentation and workflow process standards.
Train and oversee the day to day activities of BIM Technicians to ensure BIM standards are maintained in the creation of 3D models.
Assist with Civil3D and Revit Structure modeling, detailing, quantity takeoff, Revit family creation, parametric 3D modeling as per project requirements.
Participates in project meetings and facilitates regularly-scheduled meetings related to BIM execution and deliverables for the project.
Implement applications and processes to integrate project data such as but not limited to schedule, estimate, documentation, cost reports and performance data etc. to 3D models to develop an integrated information rich model.
Help with highway and heavy civil design coordination with 3D models, 4D CAD simulations and clash detection tests using various coordination tools such as Navisworks.
Implement Earned Value Management Techniques for project performance measurement through project schedule and cost data integration.
Act as a liaison with the IT department and provide support with hardware, SharePoint and network requirements for better generation, management and retrieval of data across projects.
4-year degree in Engineering, IT or Construction-related field
1 to2 years of experience in engineering or field construction preferred
Fundamental knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes
Familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction
Familiarity with relevant infrastructure BIM applications (graduate courses) and 3D, 4D modeling
Willingness to relocate to project site locations is expected
