Construction and Heavy Civil


  • Advanced competency in CAD with a strong preference for candidates with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center and/or Microstation

  • Working knowledge of SharePoint

  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam

  • Ability to read heavy civil construction drawings (roads/bridges/utilities/walls)

  • Ability to read and understand construction standard specifications and standard drawings

  • Ability to work with others in estimating teams and present in front of small groups

  • Take collaboration ideas/story boarding and turn rough sketches/ideas into working drawings

  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple assignments at the same time

  • Previous knowledge of heavy civil construction processes desired but not required


  • 2-year technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent) is preferred, as well as 4-6 years of relevant experience.

  • Proficiency with Microstation, InRoads and AutoCAD software

  • Ability to interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards such as AASHTO, TAC, provincial standards/guidelines, as well as company policies and procedures
